Regulated Utilities : Utility Consumer Assistance and Complaints

What do I do if I have a problem or complaint?
Ohio utility consumers may contact either the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel (OCC) or the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) about their poor utility service, an outage, a threatened utility disconnection, security deposit problems, or other disputes with their PUCO-regulated natural gas, electric, telephone or water company.

Consumers may also file formal written complaints (with or without an attorney) against a utility company with the PUCO.
