Termination of Employment : Wrongful Discharge

Can an employer fire me from my job without a reason?
Ohio is an employment-at-will state, which means an employer can fire you from a job without cause, as long as it is not illegal. So for example, an employer cannot discriminate against you due to your age, gender, religious belief, or origin.

Does my employer have to provide an employee handbook?
No, an employer is not required by law to have an employee handbook; however, it is recommended to help employees understand the policies and procedures of their employer. An employee handbook provides a centralized record of the employer's policies and procedures, and can provide valuable information that is accessible by both employees and managers.
