Programs and Offices

The Find Ohio Legal Help feature of the site allows client users to locate legal services organizations and pro bono programs that may be of assistance.    Information about organizations is divided into Programs and Offices.  Each Program can have one or more Offices associated with it.

Because Programs and Offices will appear on the Advocate and Pro Bono websites, the folders pertaining to this information are located at a higher level in the folder hierarchy than most other Client site content.  This bears remembering when you are adding a new Program or Office.   It will not be important when changing existing content.

To change an existing Program or Office entry:

  • Navigate to the detail screen for the Program or Office in question.  (Use the "By County" or "By Zip Code" searches on the Find Ohio Legal Help page, just as a user would do.)
  • Click the edit tab in the management frame.
  • Change the information as appropriate.
  • Click Save at the bottom of the form.

To add a new Program:

  • While on the Client site home page, click on the contents tab.
  • Click the "up one level" link below the "What is your legal problem?" folder to get to the public folder
  • Click the "up one level" link below the public header to get to the Ohio Portal folder
  • Click on the Programs folder.
  • Click the "add item" drop-down menu and select either "legal aid program" or "pro bono program"
  • Fill in the fields.  Keep in mind that fields marked with a red square are required.
  • Click Save at the bottom of the screen.

To add a new Office to an existing Program:

  • Navigate to the Program folder while in the "contents" view as above.
  • Navigate to the folder pertaining to the Program for which you wish to add an office.
  • Click "add legal aid office" in the management frame.  (When you are in a Program folder, you will not see a general "add item" drop-down menu because a legal aid office is the only thing you can add here.)
  • Fill in the fields.  Keep in mind that fields marked with a red square are required.
  • Click Save at the bottom of the screen.
