Dictionary Terms

by Ray A last modified 2008-01-16 15:36

Client users find Dictionary Term definitions using the "Search Legal Terms Dictionary" box in the right column.  This function includes a "live search" feature that dynamically matches on entries while the user is typing.  The "View Entire Dictionary" link below the search box enables the user to browse for a term alphabetically.

To change an existing Dictionary Term entry:

  • Navigate to the detail screen for the Dictionary Term in question by browsing to it alphabetically. (See note below.)
  • Click the edit tab in the management frame.
  • Change the information as appropriate.
  • Click Save at the bottom of the form.

To add a new Dictionary Term:

  • While on the Client site home page, click on the contents tab.
  • Click the "up one level" link below the "What is your legal problem" folder to get to the public folder
  • Click on the Legal Terms Dictionary folder.
  • Click "add dictionary term" in the management frame.  (When you are in the Legal Terms Dictionary folder, you will not see a general "add item" drop-down menu because a dictionary term is the only thing you can add here.)
  • Fill in the title (which is the term itself) and the definition.
  • Click Save at the bottom of the screen.

Notes:
  • The dictionary search is designed to return the full definition of all dictionary entries that match keywords entered into the search box.  If you click the "edit" tab while multiple dictionary terms are displayed, you will not see the edit screen for those terms but rather for the Dictionary folder itself.  For this reason, it is easier to navigate to an existing term alphabetically and then click the "edit" tab.
