Client Library Documents
Client Library Documents are external files (e.g. PDFs or MS-Word documents) that you upload to the website from your computer or local network. They appear on the "Self-Help Materials" tab in the Client Information section.
Client Library Documents may be associated with multiple sub-topics in the Client Information section, however you should determine what sub-topic is most pertinent to the document in order to upload it to the most appropriate folder.
To modify an existing Client Library Document:
- Click on the document title in the Contents page.
- Click on the Edit tab in the management frame.
- Modify the Document metadata, including Title, Abstract, Document Grouping Options, etc. as desired. (Further information on these fields, which are called "metadata", are provided in the Notes below.)
- If you wish to replace the current file with a new file:
- First remove the existing file by selecting the filename in the listing at the bottom of the edit screen and clicking "remove selected items"
- Next, use the "browse" button to select a new file from your computer or local network, and click Save to upload it to the website.
- If you wish to add a new file without removing or replacing an existing file:
- Simply use the "browse" button to select a new file from your
computer or local network, and click Save to upload it to the website.
- Click Save at the bottom of the screeen.
To add a new Client Library Document into a topic sub-folder:
- From the Contents view, click on the "Add Item" drop-down menu in the management frame.
- Select "client library document"
- Fill in the fields appropriately. (Further information on these fields, which are called "metadata", are provided in the Notes below.)
- To upload the physical file to the website, click the "browse" button at the bottom of the screen, navigate to the file on your computer or local network, and click Save.
- Click Save.
Notes on Client Library Documents:
- One feature of the new system is the ability to group multiple physical files under a single set of metadata fields (i.e. Title, Abstract, etc.) We will be using this feature in cases where we have a given document in multiple formats (e.g. both a PDF and a WordPerfect file).
