Welcome to the Western Ohio Volunteer Law Student Program!

The goal of this program is to provide attorneys with the law firms of ABLE and LAWO with quality legal research provided by law students at Ohio Northern University, The University of Toledo and University of Dayton. Students who participate in this program will be provided with many research opportunities outside of the traditional educational or work environment.

Purpose Statement:

1. To provide remote research assistance to all LAWO and ABLE offices throughout the 32-county service area and throughout the state for the Migrant Farmworker and Immigration programs.
   
2. To offer students a unique research opportunity, providing experiences that will help develop legal skills in a non-traditional, educational setting;
3. To provide volunteer opportunities to students who might not otherwise be able to participate due to scheduling constraints;
4. To raise awareness of the need for pro bono and public interest law attorneys.
